Senior Human Resources Generalist
Looking for an HR role where you can do more than one kind of HR work?
We’re looking for a Senior Human Resources Generalist who enjoys helping employees, keeping important processes organized, and finding better ways to communicate and get things done.
This isn’t a role where every day looks the same. One day, you may help an employee understand the FMLA process. The next, you may write an employee communication, coordinate an HR project, conduct an exit interview, or create content that shows people what it’s like to work at MasterSpas.
If you like variety, enjoy working directly with people, and take pride in following through, this could be a great next step for you.
What You’ll Do
Help employees navigate important situations
You’ll manage the day-to-day administration of our FMLA program, including reviewing eligibility, preparing notices, tracking certifications, managing recertifications, coordinating returns to work, and maintaining required documentation.
You’ll also support employees and managers through ADA accommodations, PWFA requests, workers’ compensation claims, medical restrictions, and return-to-work planning. This means communicating with employees, managers, clinics, carriers, and other partners while keeping information accurate and confidential.
You don’t need to have every answer immediately. You do need to be willing to research the issue, communicate clearly, keep the process moving, and know when something needs to be escalated.
Listen to employee feedback and look for patterns
You’ll conduct structured exit interviews and maintain the information collected from departing employees. You’ll help identify recurring turnover themes and work with the HR Manager on possible retention and employee-experience improvements.
You may also support stay interviews, employee-listening efforts, and other retention projects.
Tell the story of working at MasterSpas
This role also helps manage our HR and employer-brand social media content. You’ll create and coordinate employee spotlights, photos, videos, testimonials, recruiting campaigns, and other content that highlights our employees, workplace, career opportunities, community involvement, and development programs.
You’ll manage a content calendar, monitor engagement and recruiting-marketing results, and look for creative ways to help Master Spas stand out to job seekers in the local market.
We want someone who can make the content feel genuine, not like it came from a generic corporate template.
Keep employees informed
You’ll help make sure employees receive clear, useful information about HR programs, policies, benefits, events, workplace updates, recognition, and available resources.
That includes managing an HR communication calendar, coordinating newsletter content, and maintaining information across our internal TVs, digital platforms, bulletin boards, and other employee communication channels. You’ll also support communication planning for larger HR initiatives and organizational changes.
Keep HR projects moving
HR projects often involve several people, many details, and deadlines that can’t be forgotten.
You’ll coordinate projects from planning through implementation and follow-up. You’ll create timelines, track milestones and responsibilities, follow up on deliverables, provide status updates, and maintain project documentation.
You may also help implement new HR systems, programs, policies, processes, and employee initiatives, then review how well those changes worked after implementation.
Support the rest of the HR team
You’ll assist with recruiting, interviews, onboarding, and new-hire orientation. You’ll also serve as a resource for routine employee and manager questions and may participate in employee meetings, investigations, disciplinary discussions, and other HR matters.
Because HR rarely fits neatly into one box, you’ll also provide backup support to the HR team when needed.
You May Be a Good Fit If You…
- Enjoy helping employees understand processes that may be new or confusing.
- Can explain HR information without making it sound unnecessarily complicated.
- Follow through and don’t let important details fall through the cracks.
- Feel comfortable managing multiple projects and changing priorities.
- Can write an employee announcement, social media post, or process communication in a clear and natural way.
- Know how to handle private employee information appropriately.
- Use good judgment and recognize when an issue needs additional guidance.
- Can work independently while still being a dependable member of the HR team.
- Like improving processes instead of accepting, “That’s how we’ve always done it.”
- Can build positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, and leaders throughout the company.
What You’ll Bring
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Three or more years of HR experience is preferred.
- Experience administering FMLA or another employee leave program is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of the ADA, PWFA, workers’ compensation, and applicable employment laws.
- Strong organization and project-management skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Good judgment, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience with employee communications, social media, content development, or employer branding is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS platforms, social media platforms, and communication or content-development tools.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred, or a willingness to pursue certification.
- Bilingual Spanish or Burmese skills are a plus.
