Safety and Training Specialist
Help create a workplace where people look out for one another.
At MasterSpas, safety is more than a manual, a training session, or a checklist. It is about making sure our employees have the knowledge, equipment, and support they need to do their jobs safely and go home to the people who count on them.
We’re looking for a Safety and Training Specialist who enjoys connecting with people, solving problems, and turning safety expectations into practical habits employees can use every day. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable moving between the production floor and the training room, asking thoughtful questions, and speaking up when something can be done better.
You won’t be working alone. You’ll report to our EHS Manager and partner closely with production leadership, the Employment & Training team, Facilities, supervisors, and employees throughout our manufacturing operations
What You’ll Do
- Build safety programs people can actually use: You’ll help develop written safety programs and procedures, review existing programs, and keep our company safety manual current. You’ll also support important initiatives such as forklift certification, respiratory protection, fall protection, and our First Responder program.
- Make training clear, useful, and engaging: Good safety training shouldn’t feel like information employees have to sit through. You’ll develop materials that help supervisors lead effective training, conduct safety sessions when needed, support new-hire safety orientation, and track required certifications to make sure they remain current.
- Spot risks before they become incidents: You’ll spend time throughout our facilities reviewing processes, identifying potential hazards, and considering how likely and serious each risk may be. When new equipment or processes are introduced, you’ll help evaluate them from a safety perspective. You’ll also conduct Personal Protective Equipment assessments to help ensure employees have the right protection for the work they perform.
- Be a visible safety partner: This isn’t a role where you’ll spend every day behind a desk. You’ll conduct documented audits, complete informal safety observations, and talk with employees throughout our facilities. The goal isn’t simply to point out what’s wrong. It’s to work with people, understand what is happening, and help find practical ways to improve. You’ll also monitor changing safety standards and regulations to support ongoing compliance.
- Support employee health and well-being: You’ll conduct ergonomic studies, collaborate on workplace improvements, and communicate safety reminders and best practices through training and written materials. You’ll also assist with workers’ compensation claims and employee work restrictions, complete accident investigations, and follow up with employees after incidents.
You May Be a Great Fit If You…
- Care about people and take pride in helping create a safer workplace.
- Can explain important information in a way that is clear, practical, and easy to understand.
- Notice the details others may miss and enjoy getting to the root of a problem.
- Are organized and able to manage several priorities accurately and on time.
- Feel comfortable working with employees, supervisors, and leaders across different departments.
- Can handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Know when to listen, when to ask questions, and when to respectfully speak up.
- Are comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
- Enjoy working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Need
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- The ability to pass required background checks, pre-employment testing, and evaluation.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Careful attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience in safety, training, or teaching is preferred. Completion of OSHA 10- or 30-hour training, experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and bilingual English/Spanish skills are all considered a plus.
