Campus Security Officer

Be the Calm, Watchful Presence That Helps Keep Everyone Safe.

This isn't a role built around sitting at a desk watching a monitor. You'll be a visible, approachable presence across our campus—patrolling buildings and parking areas, responding to incidents, assisting employees and visitors, supporting traffic flow, and keeping your eyes open for anything that doesn't look quite right.

If you're observant, dependable, calm under pressure, and naturally look out for the people around you, this is a role where those qualities matter every day.

What You'll Do

Your job is simple to explain, but important to get right: Help make sure the people who come onto our campus leave it just as safely. You'll spend time throughout our facilities, grounds, and parking areas—not waiting for someone to tell you there's a problem.

You'll:

  • Patrol campus buildings, grounds, and parking areas.
  • Stay alert for hazards, suspicious activity, disorder, or anything else that needs attention.
  • Help ensure employees and visitors follow established safety and security procedures.
  • Identify potential hazards and report concerns to the EHS Manager.
  • Complete periodic inspections of safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and First Aid supply cabinets.

Sometimes the most important thing you'll do is notice something before it becomes an incident.

Be Ready When Something Happens

Most days won't be emergencies. But when one happens, people need someone who can stay calm enough to think clearly.

You'll respond to situations involving fires, severe weather, accidents, suspicious activity, or crimes involving people or property. You'll assess what's happening, take appropriate action within your role, and make sure the right people are brought in when needed.

The goal isn't to be the loudest person in the situation. It's to be one of the calmest.

Investigate. Document. Follow Through.

What happens after an incident matters too. You'll conduct incident investigations and prepare detailed, accurate reports that help management understand what happened and determine what needs to happen next. You'll also support follow-up actions involving safety and security concerns.

That means you'll need good judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to separate what you know happened from what someone assumes happened.

You'll also handle sensitive information, so discretion and confidentiality are essential.

Keep People—and Traffic—Moving

With employees, visitors, delivery drivers, and trucks moving throughout campus, security also plays an important role in keeping things organized. You'll:

  • Monitor parking and traffic regulations.
  • Issue citations or coordinate towing when necessary.
  • Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic during high-volume periods or special events.
  • Support Shipping with driver check-ins and truck traffic flow.
  • Help employees and visitors experiencing vehicle problems, including jump-starts or coordinating locksmith and towing services.

Sometimes you're enforcing a rule. Sometimes you're solving a problem. And sometimes you're simply helping someone whose morning just got a lot more frustrating because their car won't start.

Be Someone People Are Comfortable Approaching

Security works better when people aren't afraid to talk to Security. You'll regularly interact with employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers—providing directions, answering questions, helping solve problems, and serving as a visible resource across campus.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who pays attention.

The person who notices the unfamiliar vehicle that's been sitting somewhere too long.

The blocked walkway.

The safety issue everyone else has walked past three times.

The employee who looks like they might need help.

And when something actually happens, you're able to switch from observing to responding without losing your composure.

You'll likely be successful if you:

  • Have prior experience in law enforcement, military service, safety, security, or a similar environment—preferred, but not required.
  • Have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Have strong judgment and can make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Are self-directed and don't need someone constantly telling you what to check next.
  • Are organized enough to manage patrols, inspections, incidents, reports, and competing priorities.
  • Communicate professionally with all kinds of people.
  • Can remain respectful when someone is frustrated or doesn't agree with what you're telling them.
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality.
  • Can successfully complete the required background check, pre-employment testing, and evaluations.

What You Can Expect

This is an active role that will take you throughout the MasterSpas campus and put you in contact with employees across the organization.

You'll work closely with Safety, Facilities, Human Resources, Training, and Shipping, giving you exposure to much more than traditional security responsibilities.

You'll have independence in your day, but with that independence comes responsibility. You'll be expected to recognize what needs attention, prioritize appropriately, document what happens, and know when something needs to be escalated.

Most importantly, you'll have a job where doing it well means hundreds of people can focus on doing theirs.
