Production Supervisor – Foam Department
Lead the People. Own the Process. Build Quality Into Every Spa.
Production numbers matter. But great production leadership is about more than hitting a number at the end of the shift. It's making sure your team knows what's expected. It's catching a quality problem before it moves down the line. It's recognizing when someone needs coaching instead of waiting until performance becomes a bigger issue. It's keeping people safe while still finding ways to make the department more efficient.
As the Production Supervisor in our Foam department at MasterSpas, you'll lead the people, processes, and daily operations of our Footwell and Final Foam departments—with direct accountability for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. This is a role for someone who doesn't just want to supervise production. You want to build a team that knows how to perform.
What You'll Do
Your job is to make sure the department succeeds—not just today, but consistently. That means balancing people, production, quality, equipment, materials, and priorities throughout every shift.
Lead the Shift, Not Just Watch It
You'll own the daily rhythm of the Footwell and Final Foam departments. You'll:
- Organize staffing and work assignments around production schedules and priorities.
- Make sure employees understand what they're responsible for and what good performance looks like.
- Monitor productivity throughout the shift and adjust when necessary.
- Identify the obstacles slowing your team down and work with other departments to remove them.
- Communicate equipment, staffing, material, process, and production concerns before they become bigger problems.
- Make sure your team has the parts and materials needed to keep production moving.
Build a Team That Doesn't Need to Be Chased
A strong department isn't built by constantly reminding people what they're supposed to be doing. It's built through clear expectations, coaching, training, feedback, and accountability.
You'll give employees direction, train them on processes and equipment, coach them when they need development, recognize where performance needs to improve, and address behavioral or performance concerns promptly.
You'll also lead by example. If you expect your team to be dependable, professional, accountable, and safety-focused, they'll need to see those same things from you.
Make Quality Part of the Process
Foam isn't something we can simply apply and hope for the best. You'll make sure operators follow established specifications and work instructions, properly aim spray equipment, and apply foam evenly and thoroughly throughout the product. You'll monitor workmanship, address process deviations as they occur, and partner with Quality and Production Management when problems continue to show up.
Because the goal isn't to find defects later.
It's to build quality into the process from the beginning.
Hold the Standard
Supervising means supporting people. It also means holding them accountable.
You'll monitor individual and department productivity, track attendance, maintain required production documentation, and make sure employees consistently follow work instructions, safety requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
When expectations aren't being met, you'll address it. When someone needs coaching, you'll coach them. When someone is doing great work, you'll reinforce it.
And when your team succeeds, you'll make sure they know it.
Keep the Department Ready to Run
A strong production department doesn't wait until equipment is failing or the work area is a mess to do something about it.
You'll ensure foam equipment, filters, tools, and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained, coordinate repairs when equipment issues arise, and keep the department organized so downtime doesn't become the norm.
Make Safety Non-Negotiable
Foam application comes with specific processes, materials, PPE requirements, and safety expectations.
You'll be responsible for reinforcing them every day.
You'll identify unsafe behaviors and conditions, take corrective action when necessary, work with Safety and Production Management to address hazards, and help employees understand that safety isn't something we do because someone is watching.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who understands that being a supervisor doesn't mean being the person with all the answers. It means being the person who creates clarity, consistency, accountability, and direction when the team needs it.
You'll likely be successful if you:
- Have previous supervisory or relevant leadership experience.
- Have manufacturing experience or understand how to lead in a fast-paced production environment.
- Know how to coach people—not simply tell them what they're doing wrong.
- Can hold employees accountable while still building strong working relationships.
- Are comfortable making decisions when priorities change quickly.
- Can manage multiple demands without losing focus on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Communicate clearly with employees, Production Leads, Quality, Safety, Maintenance, and Production Management.
- Have spray foam or foam application experience—a plus, but not required.
What You Can Expect
This is a hands-on production leadership role where you'll spend your time where the work is happening. You'll work closely with Production Leads, Production Team Members, Quality, Safety, and Maintenance, balancing employee needs with the realities of running a manufacturing operation.
The environment is physical and fast-paced. The role requires prolonged standing, sitting, squatting, and bending; repetitive movements; and the ability to assist with lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 100 pounds. You'll also work around materials commonly used in our manufacturing processes, including fiberglass, resin, plastic, dust, glue, primer, and foam.
Most importantly, you'll have an opportunity to build something that doesn't show up on a production schedule: A department where people know what's expected, take ownership of their work, and understand that quality, safety, and performance belong to everyone.
