Reporting directly to the Controller, this position is responsible for determining the actual costs of manufacturing, evaluating associated expenses, analyzing profitability and preparing budgets in order to reduce financial waste and increase profits.


 Create and maintain accurate bill of materials for each product line

  • Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system
  • Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems
  • Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventory
  • Work with receiving and engineering to investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues
  • Work closely with purchasing to reduce inventory levels
  • Analyze actual production costs and prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
  • Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
  • Work with the materials review team to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory
  • Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses
  • Report on breakeven points by product lines and factory
  • Report on margins by product line and factory
  • Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances
  • Analyze capital budgeting requests
  • Perform cost accumulation tasks as a member of the target costing group
  • Month end balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of entries to adjust inventory-related reserves/accruals


  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 3+ years of accounting/finance experience
  • 3+ years of job/process costing experience
  • Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards
  • Experience with evaluating inventory standards and overhead costs
  • Experience with Bill of Materials
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Sound understanding of accounting principals
  • Strong collaboration skills – working with many different teams
  • Detail oriented/self-starter required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel & Power Point
  • Experience with SAGE is a plus

Schedule: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:00pm & Fridays 8:00am-12:00 Noon

Compensation: TBD based on experience, plus competitive benefits package
